Bali to Raja Ampat Cost 2026: Itemised Budget Guide

As of 2026, a Bali to Raja Ampat trip costs each foreign traveller the flights, the Raja Ampat conservation tariff and regency levy, Bali’s tourist levy and a possible Sorong night, then the boat: boutique phinisi and VVIP charters are quoted on request for the specific vessel, dates, duration, guest count and inclusions.

Every figure in this Bali to Raja Ampat cost ledger carries a date and a source, and all of it is subject to change. The Bali Raja Ampat desk, operated by Komodo Luxury, turns this ledger into a live itemised quote once your dates are set. Nothing on this page is a guaranteed price.

Why is Raja Ampat expensive?

Three things drive the bill.

The flight is thin. FlightConnections and fltmapper snapshots from September 2026 show Garuda GA 686 as the scheduled nonstop, a Boeing 737-800 leaving Bali at 01:30–01:40 and landing at 05:40, roughly once a week. KAYAK also reports a Lion Air nonstop, so confirm stops when booking. Most days you connect via Makassar (UPG) or Jakarta (CGK); FlightRoutes puts a Makassar routing at about 6h35.

The boat is private. Every Komodo Luxury departure is a whole-boat charter with captain, crew and private chef. You pay for the vessel, not a berth, and itineraries anchored on Wayag, Piaynemo and Misool cover long sea distances.

The levies add up. The regency levy is set by Raja Ampat Regency and confirmed at booking. Revenue is reportedly split 60 percent local government, 15 percent village tourism, 25 percent operations.

Packages also bundle differently. Partner reference Luxury Raja Ampat lists a 14-day Raja Ampat plus Komodo package, quoted on request for the specific package, dates, guest count and inclusions, with Sorong–Labuan Bajo flights and park fees included. Compare inclusions before totals.

Which costs are fixed?

Only government charges are fixed per head:

  • Raja Ampat conservation tariff: The Raja Ampat conservation area service tariff for foreign tourists is IDR 1,000,000 per person per year; children under 12 and people with disabilities are exempt, as set in Pergub Papua Barat Daya No. 32/2024 (checked 2026-09-16). The Raja Ampat conservation area service tariff for domestic tourists is IDR 500,000 per person per year (IDR 250,000 for holders of non-Papua Barat Daya ID cards living in Tanah Papua; IDR 150,000 for Papua Barat Daya ID holders), as set in Pergub Papua Barat Daya No. 32/2024 (checked 2026-09-16).
  • Raja Ampat regency levy: set by Raja Ampat Regency and confirmed at booking.
  • Bali, international visitors: Bali’s tourist levy for international tourists is IDR 150,000, paid through the Love Bali app, which went live on 14 February 2024, as listed on Love Bali, Bali Provincial Government (checked 2026-09-16).

Pay Raja Ampat charges through the Marine Park Authority portal or on site at Sorong harbour and the Waisai office; treat them as non-refundable once issued.

Fares, rooms, transfers and boat nights all float.

What do 7, 10 and 14-day budgets look like?

Assumptions: two foreign guests on one yacht. Flights, levies and hotels are quoted separately.

Sample Shape Boat nights
7 days Overnight GA 686 in, 7D6N sailing, one-stop flight back 6
10 days 1 Bali night, one-stop flight, 1 Sorong night, 7 nights aboard 7
14 days Overnight GA 686 in, 11D10N sailing, 3 Bali nights after 10

Komodo Luxury programmes typically run 7D6N to 11D10N. Boat charters are quoted on request for the specific vessel, dates, duration, guest count and inclusions. Ask whether permits are bundled so you never pay twice.

What changes by season?

  • July, August and Christmas weeks are requested first, so the best boats go early.
  • Bali peaks June to September and holiday weeks, tightening pre- and post-trip rooms.
  • Raja Ampat seas are generally calmer October to April.
  • Wet season: request 3–4 hour hub connections, which can add a night.
  • Public holidays: the ferry runs only at 14:00.

How does booking work?

  1. Send dates, group size and nationality. Nationality sets your levy tier.
  2. Fix the date before the boat name. The park works on dated tickets.
  3. Receive the itemised quote, every cost on its own line.
  4. Confirm with the reservations team. Komodo Luxury handles bookings directly.
  5. Settle permits and paperwork, including Indonesia’s single digital arrival card with QR code, in use since 1 Sep 2025.

> Get an itemised quote from the Komodo Luxury desk. Send dates, group size and nationality on WhatsApp at +62 811 3823 875 or email [sales@komodoluxury.com](mailto:sales@komodoluxury.com). Figures are as of 2026 and subject to change; no price is final until the reservations team confirms it. 2027 inquiries should include dates and group size.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Bali to Raja Ampat trip cost per person in 2026?

Flights and levies are itemised per traveller in your quote. The boat is the big line: boutique phinisi and VVIP superyacht charters are quoted on request for the specific vessel, dates, duration, guest count and inclusions. Subject to change.

Are Raja Ampat entry fees included in a yacht charter price?

It depends on the package. Komodo Luxury’s rate covers the whole boat, captain, crew and private chef, so ask the desk whether permits are bundled. Some partner packages, such as Luxury Raja Ampat’s 14-day Raja Ampat plus Komodo trip, include marine park permits. An itemised quote lists the Raja Ampat levies separately, so nothing is counted twice.

Is the Bali to Sorong nonstop cheaper than flying via Makassar?

No source shows a consistent answer. Garuda GA 686 flies nonstop roughly once a week, while one-stop routings via Makassar or Jakarta cover other days. Price the dates you can actually fly, then weigh fare against connection time.

Do children pay the Raja Ampat fees?

The Raja Ampat conservation area service tariff for foreign tourists is IDR 1,000,000 per person per year; children under 12 and people with disabilities are exempt, as set in Pergub Papua Barat Daya No. 32/2024 (checked 2026-09-16). Our 2026 sources do not confirm a child exemption for the regency levy, so ask the desk to check each child’s charge before paying.
